On Friday, January 5, 2018, the church was packed as church and community members said goodbye to Tony Guck, who had passed away a week earlier, at home surrounded by family members. He was 64. Much loved, Tony was married to Pastor Sarah Guck of our congregation.

Here is a photo of Tony that was in the memorial service bulletin. (Sorry, no photo credit handy.)

And here are a few photos from the service. (Taken by Kelly Hart)

In the first two, Pastor Angel Garibay, of our sister church, Elim Assembly of God Church in Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico, spoke lovingly about Tony in Spanish and Father Paul Moore (who is bilingual) translated.

Tony was Buddhist as well as Episcopalian, and here the Buddhist part of the service was beginning. Tony and Sarah’s two sons are standing with her.

Below, the beginning of the Eucharist part of the service.

Here Sarah is telling us about one of Tony’s final five wishes. He had asked that everyone present be given a five-dollar bill to be used to purchase a favorite beverage and then to raise a glass not to him but TO LIFE!
